In this ISUOG 2025 session, Prof. Francesco D’Antonio examines the clinical context of placenta accreta spectrum and the role of ultrasound in prenatal assessment. The presentation is structured around understanding how imaging contributes to identifying abnormal placental attachment and supporting clinical evaluation during pregnancy.

The session begins by outlining key ultrasound features commonly assessed in suspected placenta accreta spectrum cases, including placental morphology and the relationship between the placenta and the myometrium. Emphasis is placed on systematic image interpretation and the importance of experience when evaluating complex placental anatomy.

A central part of the discussion focuses on the use of CrystalVue as an imaging feature within obstetric ultrasound examinations. The presentation explains how enhanced contrast visualization may assist clinicians in delineating placental structures and interfaces during assessment. Examples are used to illustrate how visualization tools can support interpretation, particularly in anatomically complex cases.

Rather than focusing on diagnostic outcomes, the session highlights practical considerations for incorporating visualization features into routine prenatal ultrasound workflows. The importance of standardized scanning technique, careful image acquisition, and correlation with other ultrasound findings is emphasized throughout.

The presentation also addresses how ultrasound findings in placenta accreta spectrum should be interpreted within the broader clinical context, supporting multidisciplinary planning and communication. The role of ultrasound as part of an overall prenatal assessment strategy is reinforced.

In this ISUOG 2025 session, Prof. Liona Chiu Yee Poon examines maternal cardiac hemodynamics in pregnancy, focusing on how cardiovascular adaptation can be evaluated through ultrasound-based assessment. The presentation frames maternal cardiac monitoring as an important component of understanding physiological and pathological changes during pregnancy.

The session begins by outlining normal maternal cardiovascular adaptations, including changes in cardiac output and vascular resistance. These physiological changes are discussed to provide context for why monitoring maternal cardiac hemodynamics is clinically relevant across gestation, particularly in pregnancies requiring closer surveillance.

Ultrasound is presented as a practical, non-invasive modality for assessing maternal cardiac function. The webinar reviews how ultrasound-derived measurements can be used to observe hemodynamic trends over time, supporting longitudinal assessment rather than single time-point evaluation. Emphasis is placed on repeatability and standardized measurement to ensure consistent interpretation.

The presentation then explores the role of AI-supported tools in maternal cardiac ultrasound. Rather than focusing on diagnostic outcomes, the session discusses how AI may assist with workflow-related aspects such as image acquisition support and measurement consistency. These tools are positioned as complementary aids that work alongside clinician expertise.

The session also addresses practical considerations for integrating maternal cardiac hemodynamic assessment into obstetric practice. Examiner experience, standardized protocols, and interpretation within the broader clinical context are highlighted as key factors influencing effective use of ultrasound in maternal cardiovascular monitoring.

The importance of a step-by-step scanning approach is highlighted to reduce variability and improve reproducibility in routine practice.

Examples are used to illustrate how ultrasound findings can be described and recorded in a consistent manner when applying the IDEA protocol. The session also discusses practical considerations for integrating the protocol into daily workflows, including examiner experience and examination time.

In addition, the presentation touches on the role of advanced ultrasound techniques, such as visualization of vascular patterns, to support lesion characterization when appropriate. These techniques are presented as complementary tools within a structured assessment framework.

Overall, the session emphasizes how endometriosis ultrasound, guided by the IDEA protocol, can support standardized evaluation, clearer communication of findings, and more consistent clinical assessment in daily practice.
This ISUOG 2025 session, presented by Edgar A. Hernandez-Andrade, MD, PhD, focuses on the role of placenta accreta spectrum ultrasound in the prenatal diagnosis of PAS. The presentation examines how detailed assessment of placental vascularity can support identification of abnormal placental attachment and invasion.

The session reviews established ultrasound markers associated with placenta accreta spectrum, with emphasis on evaluation of the placental–myometrial interface and abnormal vascular patterns. Particular attention is given to visualization of low-velocity blood flow, which can provide additional information in suspected PAS cases.

A key topic of the webinar is the contribution of MV-Flow, which supports visualization of microvascular and low-velocity blood flow within the placenta. Examples demonstrate how enhanced depiction of placental vascularity may assist in interpreting abnormal findings when conventional Doppler assessment is limited.

The session also addresses the role of E-Cervix in evaluating cervical anatomy and its relevance in the broader assessment of patients at risk of PAS. Cervical findings are discussed in relation to placental location and surgical planning considerations.

Throughout the presentation, ultrasound is described as a central modality for prenatal diagnosis of PAS, supporting risk stratification and multidisciplinary planning. The importance of standardized scanning protocols and careful interpretation by experienced examiners is emphasized to improve diagnostic confidence and consistency.

This ISUOG 2025 session, presented by Prof. Valentina Chiappa, outlines the role of gynecologic oncology ultrasound in assessing and staging gynecologic malignancies. The presentation focuses on how standardized ultrasound evaluation can support clinical decision-making across ovarian, endometrial, cervical, and tubal cancers.

Ovarian mass assessment is a central topic, with emphasis on evaluating malignancy risk using lesion morphology, vascular patterns, and tumor heterogeneity. The session discusses the use of validated tools, including IOTA terminology, Simple Rules, and the ADNEX model, to support structured risk stratification and diagnostic consistency.

The webinar also addresses ultrasound-based evaluation of disease spread in ovarian cancer. Assessment of peritoneal involvement, lymph node status, and features associated with tumor non-resectability is reviewed in the context of preoperative planning.

Endometrial cancer assessment is presented with a focus on qualitative evaluation beyond endometrial thickness alone. The session highlights identification of focal lesions, use of sonohysterography, and assessment of myometrial and cervical stromal infiltration to support tumor staging.

Cervical cancer staging is also covered, with ultrasound discussed as an alternative to MRI in selected clinical settings. Evaluation of tumor size, vascularity, parametrial involvement, and adjacent organ infiltration is demonstrated using two-dimensional, Doppler, and three-dimensional ultrasound techniques.

Overall, the session highlights how gynecologic oncology ultrasound supports structured assessment and staging across multiple gynecologic cancer types.
