Ultrasound and MV-CEUS™ in Liver Diagnostics Webinar
This webinar provides educational insights into the role of ultrasound and MV-CEUS™ in liver diagnostics for healthcare professionals. Led by Prof. Dirk-André Clevert, the session focuses on liver imaging in General Imaging and introduces clinical perspectives on microvascular contrast-enhanced ultrasound through practical, real-world case reviews.
Microvascular Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (MV-CEUS™)
MV-CEUS™, or Microvascular Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound, is presented as a feature related to Samsung’s R20 ultrasound system. The webinar explores how contrast-enhanced ultrasound can support liver imaging education by helping clinicians better understand microvascular perfusion and diagnostic assessment in liver applications, particularly by analyzing enhancement patterns across the following phases:
- Arterial phase
- Portal venous phase
- Late phase
Clinical Applications in Liver Diagnostics
In liver diagnostics, CEUS enables real-time perfusion assessment without radiation exposure, while microvascular CEUS is positioned to provide more detailed visualization of fine vascular structures. Samsung Healthcare describes Microvascular CEUS as supporting capillary-level visualization, with relevance to lesion characterization and differentiation between benign and malignant findings, such as:
- Focal Nodular Hyperplasia (FNH)
- Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
- Liver metastases
